MetaVoid were founded in Augsburg in early 2014. Over the course of the year they self-produced their debut-EP titled „Parasymmetry“, which was released in late 2014 and is since then available for free/pay-what-you-want-download.
Their style can be described as progressive metal and finds its major influence in the genre-pioneers of Meshuggah as well as Vildhjarta and Gorguts. MetaVoid’s music focusses on nasty grooves, a huge guitar sound produced by low-tuned 8-string guitars, sophisticated polyrhythmic riffs and impactful songwriting which often dares to derive from the standard-scheme.
After releasing their first EP, MetaVoid played a number of shows alongside bands such as Facing The Swarm Thought, Lower Than Zero, Combustion, Ichorid or Necrotted. The feedback they received was downright positive.
MetaVoids second EP „Heliosophist“ was released in October 2018. Musically MetaVoid expand their style for influences from blasting Death Metal as well as experimental elements. „Heliosophist“ tells the story of the birth, life and death of our solar system and the sentient beings which emerged from it.
„Heliosophist“ is entirely self-produced by the band. The mastering was done by Simon Hawemann (Nightmarer, War From A Harlots Mouth) at Sludge Studios in Tampa, Florida.
